The Pakistan Army

The Pakistan Army is the uniform service branch of the Pakistan Armed Forces responsible for land-based military operations. The Pakistan Army came into existence after the partition of sub continent in 1947. It is currently headed by chief of army staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani. The Pakistan Army is a volunteer professional fighting force.[2] According to the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) it has an active force of 620,000 personnel in 2012, although official numbers are classified. Pakistan army has many regiments, battalion, platoons and brigades. The official Numbers are always classified to prevent enemy from estimating man power of army. Pakistan army is one the top best armies of the world. Recently it has won gold medal in Cambrian patrol exercises. These exercises are the toughest exercises of the world ever made. It includes mountain survival, jungle survival and searching targets for artillery and air force too. Pakistan army troops from Rawalpindi core and special services group participated in these exercise. The world witnessed that Pakistan army is the toughest army of the world and no one can challenge such a army. Despite of is extremely low budget compared to the other countries of the region, Pakistan army still maintains its highest level of professionalism. Pakistan army conducts many exercises with many countries including china USA, Russia, Turkey, Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Palestine and many other countries. And off course its participation in UN peace keeping mission is well known to the world. Specially the rescue operation of Mogadishu in which Pakistan army rescued us marines which were badly surrounded and pinned down by Militia army. Pakistan army responded in tine and rescued the entire trapped marine platoon from hot battlefield.
